The Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce held a webinar to discuss the local impact of COVID-19. Speakers included Paul Brennan, Lawrence General Hospital’s director of pre-hospital EMS and emergency preparedness coordinator, and Matthew Batastini, an attorney with Schwartz Hannum PC.
On Friday morning, Brennan outlined Lawrence General Hospital’s response to the pandemic, which includes offsite testing, and investigating the possibility of a drive-through testing center. He also indicated that LGH has a hotline for anyone looking to get information about COVID-19 treatments. If you have any questions relating to COVID-19, call the hotline at (978) 946-8409.
Brennan provided up-to-date information on the state of the response. He encouraged listeners to go to https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-cases-quarantine-and-monitoring for a list of confirmed cases in Massachusetts, and to Ready.gov for useful educational materials on dealing with COVID-19. He also cautioned the public to be aware of fake websites posted by cybercriminals looking to take advantage of the current crisis.
Following Brennan’s talk, Batastini, along with his colleague Kirsten White, both of the Andover-based law firm Schwartz Hannum PC, gave a presentation on the ways business owners can respond to the COVID-19 crisis. Among the suggestions they offered to clearly articulate a response plan to employees.
