On Sept. 6, owner Stephanie Sipley opened a second branch of SoleAmour. Located in Winchester, Mass., she chose the town as a place where she could offer the community not only its “sole” shoe store, but also a personalized shopping experience.

Unlike the store in Andover, SoleAmour in Winchester sells clothes along with the shoes and custom jewelry characteristic of its original location.

Sipley specializes in “couture comfort” and the store’s policies reflect this. Coffee and dogs are welcome, and she is known to send photos to regular customers when items arrive she thinks they will enjoy. Items range from custom to affordable and all sizes are welcome.

The focus is on artisan products, with many one of a kind pieces to discover. SoleAmour carries the LizaBeth jewelry line. The Austin-based jeweler shares Sipley’s aesthetic: a confluence of vintage and modern, with a flair for the unexpected. After all, Sipley notes, it is the unexpected that draws people to local boutique stores and keeps them interested. In addition, SoleAmour sells Sipley’s own custom line of jewelry, Ava Lila, named after her two daughters, as well as products by top jewelers, including Renee Sheppard and Miguel Ases.

And then, of course, there are the shoes. Some are made to order and you may not find another pair like them in North America, if not the world. But if you’re looking for something a little more mainstream, SoleAmour also carries footwear from Dolce Vita and other trend-setting international companies.
