Charles Gargiulo
Charles Gargiulo grew up in Lowell’s Little Canada neighborhood before it was destroyed by urban renewal. An Army veteran with a sociology degree from the University of Lowell, he raises hell as an activist for social and economic justice. He is a founder of Lowell’s Coalition for a Better Acre and old enough to remember when Bill Russell was basketball’s GOAT.
Back in the 1960s, homes were bunched together in Little Canada. At Halloween, you could score candy like a real life Candyland game.
