Eight Great Things To Do This Weekend – 12/19/19
ONE: Just in time for the holidays, Intown Manchester is holding the 9th annual Artisan Market in downtown Manchester, N.H. Shoppers will find different types of handcrafted jewelry, glass ornaments, handmade wooden products, baked goods, fine artwork, glassware, clothing, accessories and much more. This event is free to attend and will feature live music and hands-on activities. Stop by the Brady Sullivan Building today or Saturday Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for great deals and entertainment!
TWO: Don’t miss the John Denver Rocky Mountain Christmas Tribute show at Blue Ocean Music Hall this Friday. A country/folk tribute performance, this show features Ted Vigil, who has been a long-time singer, songwriter and tribute performer. Show starts at 6:30 p.m.
THREE: This Friday, Lowell Memorial Auditorium will be hosting A Michael W Smith Christmas with Special Guest Marc Martel. This highly anticipated show will feature selections spanning Grammy award-winning artist Michael W Smith’s expansive Christmas repertoire.
In addition to the performance, and in support of his longstanding relationship with Compassion International, Michael is exclusively meeting fans each city who sponsor a child through the organization prior to the concerts and through the website www.meetmichaelwsmith.com.
Show starts at 7:30 p.m.
FOUR: After a hectic week of holiday shopping, work and everything else life demands, sometimes unwinding with a family movie is the best way to relax.
Lawrence Public Library will be showing the “The Grinch” (2018) this Friday at 3 p.m. Bring the family and enjoy a retelling of this classic holiday story.
FIVE: Join Goats to Go for a stroll in their farm woods, with goats leading the way. These events may include a meet and greet other animals on the farm such as other goats, llama, sheep and dogs too. This roughly mile-long walk will not be strenuous (5-11 year olds welcomed with parental supervision) and will be paced at a moderate “goat” speed.
Goats to Go’s Winter Solstice walk in the woods will be taking place this Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. Advanced Registration required.
SIX: Mill No. 5 will be hosting It’s a Wonderful Market, a two-floor farmers market with plenty of vendors for patrons to enjoy. On Dec. 21, from noon until 5 p.m, expect a plethora of vintage, handmade and artisanal gifts, perfect for the holidays.
SEVEN: Bah, humbug! Don’t be a Scrooge. Visit the Firehouse Center for the Arts to witness their rendition of “A Christmas Carol.” You can see “A Christmas Carol Panto!” this Sunday at 7 p.m.
EIGHT: Enjoy a relaxing brunch at Cobblestones of Lowell this Sunday. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy the musical accompaniment of violinist Yolanda Becker and the Sunday Football Specials.
