Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union Donates School Supplies to Boys & Girls Clubs of Lowell & Nashua

With the help of its generous members and employees, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union collected hundreds of school supply items for the children of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell and the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua.

From July 15 through July 26, the credit union made boxes available in each of its branch locations for members and employees to make donations. In mid-August, Jeanne D’Arc delivered notebooks, markers, crayons, binders, rulers, backpacks and more to both locations.

Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Remembers Former Chef with ALS Through Donation

Hilton Garden Inn Manchester recently presented a $3,000 check to the New Hampshire Food Bank in honor of former hotel breakfast chef Kearn Turner, who passed away in May after battling ALS. The donation, specifically distributed to New Hampshire Food Bank’s Recipe for Success program, was presented on Wednesday, August 28, during the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s August Spotlight on Business event, held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Manchester.

Lawrence General Recognized for Excellence with HeartCARE Center Designation 

The American College of Cardiology has, once again, recognized Lawrence General Hospital for its demonstrated commitment to comprehensive, high-quality culture and cardiovascular care. Lawrence General was awarded the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence in August based on meeting accreditation criteria, and through its ongoing performance registry reporting. Last year, Lawrence General became one of the first four hospitals in the nation to earn this new HeartCARE Center Distinction.

Greater Lawrence Family Health Center Names New Clinical Leadership

Greater Lawrence Family Health Center has promoted two doctors from within its ranks to clinical leadership positions. Dr. Zandra Kelley is the new chief medical officer and senior vice president of clinical affairs, and Dr. Wendy Barr is the new vice president of clinical education and director of the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency Program. Drs. Kelley and Barr are both members of the center’s senior management team, with Dr. Kelley overseeing all clinical affairs, and Dr. Barr in charge of all curriculum and operations of the residency program. 

Dr. Barr received her medical degree and master’s degree in public health from Tufts University School of Medicine, where she is also an assistant professor of family medicine. After completing her residency at Lawrence Family Medicine Residency, she completed a faculty development and research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania where she also received a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology. 

 

 

Dr. Kelley is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and has worked at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center for 16 years. She has most recently been the medical director at GLFHC, the vice president of clinical affairs for the Merrimack Valley ACO, the chief of family medicine at Lawrence General Hospital and a faculty member for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency.

Lowell Community Health Center will host an African Community Celebration from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, September 20The event will celebrate the people and home countries of Lowell’s vibrant African community while raising funds for the Health Center’s WrapAround Fund, which pays for services that are not covered by health insurance, such as medical interpretation, linking patients to health insurance, free teen programs and community education and outreach.
