Eight Great Things To Do This Weekend – 7/4/19


ONE: Today, celebrate your holiday at the Independence Day Celebration in Lowell. There will be a bounce house, obstacle course, giant slide, fireworks and much more. The celebration will be taking place at Edward A. LeLacheur Park from 6:30 to 11:59 p.m.

TWO: Comedian Bob Marley will be performing at the Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury. Check out this hilarious show on Friday, starting at 5:30 p.m.

THREE: The fourth annual Americana Rhythm & Roots Festival will be taking place this Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Waterfront Park in Newburyport. Enjoy food, drinks and great music at this must-see event.


FOUR: Citizen Cope will be playing at the Casino Ballroom this Saturday at 8 p.m. Citizen Cope’s work is perfect for any fan of blues, soul, folk and rock.

FIVE: The Newburyport BluesCruise will kick off the summer season with a tribute to (and with) the legendary “Statesman of the Blues” Shor’ty Billups this Saturday. A cash bar is available and will feature products from Newburyport Brewing Company and other local brewers. This three-hour sunset cruise departs at 7 p.m. and returns at 10 p.m.

SIX: Saturday morning, grab your pooch and head over to the Lowell National Historical Park visitor center for a Bark Ranger walk. This free, leisurely stroll allows you and your canine and human friends to model solid park stewardship while also enjoying the benefits of fresh air.

SEVEN: This Sunday, visitors of Hammond Castle Museum will have the unique opportunity to not only visit the castle, but to enjoy an afternoon filled with music. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., three local performance groups will be filling the halls and grounds with melodies for visitors to enjoy during their self-guided castle tours.


EIGHT: Looking for some nice, feel-good music? The Don Campbell Band will be playing at the Maudslay Art Center this Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. Enjoy the medley of adult contemporary/country crossover and folk-rock singer-songwriter at this beautiful venue.
