Eight Great Things To Do This Weekend – 6/20/19

ONE: Today, June 20, check out the grand re-opening of Kerouac Park is on from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy live music, play table tennis and chess/checkers, take part in group exercise classes and read and celebrate Lowell all in this newly revitalized park.

TWO: Save the date for the second Midsummer Dream on Merrimack Street festival taking place this Saturday. Behold as Merrimack Street transforms for one day and night into a magical and mysterious land with art, theater, music and costume.

THREE: Salem Tuscan Kitchen will be hosting Phantom Gourmet Italian Wine & Food Phest on June 22 starting at 11:30 a.m. Taste 40 Italian wines, delicious food and live music.

FOUR: Orangetheory Fitness Methuen will be celebrating their one-year anniversary on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by to tour the studio, meet the coaches and earn free classes.

FIVE: The Stevens-Coolidge Place’s Teddy Bear Picnic will start at 2 p.m. this Saturday and offers children plenty of fun with crafts, scavenger hunts, story time and, of course, a picnic.

SIX: Singer/songwriter Boz Scaggs will be performing at the Hampton Ballroom Casino as part of his Out of the Blues tour this Saturday at 6 p.m.

SEVEN: Catch folk trio Luna Wiles at the Firehouse Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. this Sunday.

EIGHT: The Essex Jazz Ensemble will feature the jazz compositions of Michael Finegold for the final concert of the Essex Chamber Music Players 2018-19 season on Sunday, June 23.  The concert will begin at 2 p.m. and includes jazz pieces influenced by a wide range of musical styles, including Latin salsa music, rock and classical from the Romantic and Impressionistic periods.
