ONE: The Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race’s STEAMpunk Soiree at The Keep is the place to see and be seen. Dashing rogues and daring flappers, fun-loving gentlemen and ladies of taste and decorum, come and join us for this exclusive evening of friendly wagered card-playing, drinking, and people-watching at a special, private event at the Keep in the real city of steampunk itself. Steampunk formal attire is encouraged!
TWO: More than 100 local business owners and community members will join together at Wamesit Lanes on Friday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. to raise funds for people with disabilities and other significant challenges during Fidelity House CRC’s Lanes and Games Fun-Raiser. The evening will feature an auction, virtual games, bowling, food and fun.
THREE: Join Creative Arts on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. for “Celebrating the Arts 2019” as faculty and students share their theater, music and artistic talents in celebration of its 41st year of providing arts education to all ages in Reading and across the region.
FOUR: Newburyport’s Paula Estey Gallery is hosting its first major symposium, “Lost and Found: Messengers from The Edge,” on Friday and Saturday, featuring two artists who use natural materials to make beautiful handmade crafts while supporting their passion and environmental beliefs.
FIVE: Andover Classic Wines will hold a One-Day-Only Sale this Saturday. During the sale, customers can enjoy 20% off 6 bottles or more of wine. Treat yourself to a drink with friends or family this weekend… or maybe enjoy one all to yourself. That same day, they’ll also hold a Wines For Your Next Barbeque Tasting from 3 to 5 p.m.
SIX: On Sunday from 8:45 to 11 a.m., the Lawrence History Center is welcoming athletes of all abilities to its 6th Annual North Canal Classic 5k Run/Walk/Roll and Kids Canal Dash in the North Canal district of Lawrence to raise awareness of the organization in the community, and to promote fitness and economic and cultural development in the city of Lawrence.
SEVEN: On Sunday at 2 p.m. at Haverhill’s First Church of Christ, the New England Tenors will present “From Broadway to Bradford and Beyond,” a musical program featuring songs by a number of different artists of varied backgrounds. A portion of the ticket sales proceeds will benefit the High Pointe House of Merrimack Valley Hospice.
EIGHT: The Merrimack Valley Philharmonic will hold its “Sparkle and Spirit” concert on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Timberlane Performing Arts Center. This event will showcase piano duos and soloists Kirk Whipple and Marilyn Morales performing a selection from their written work “Fives: Concerto for 2 Pianos/4 Hands.”
