Backyard Inspirations

Great backyards are a world of their own. They combine the best aspects of the home with elements of the natural environment. Whether you go to them for family feasts or late-night conversation under the stars, the backyard can be an escape from cares and a space in which to focus on what really matters. Light the fire. Listen to the sound of trickling water. And prepare to be inspired by these Merrimack Valley backyards.

Ideal Concrete Block backyard

This inviting installation features both LED lighting and a gas fireplace element with bench seating. It was built by Distinctive Stoneworks, an ICPI-certified landscaping company based in Nashua, N.H. The paving and wall stones were provided by Ideal Concrete, a small block company founded nearly a century ago. They are currently located in Westford.

This backyard oasis was created by Tom Busta Jr. and the crew at Dana Landscaping & Water Gardens. When the owners retired to this New Hampshire home, they trusted his team to transform it into something that felt like a vacation property. The water feature blends seamlessly with the natural landscape in every season. The crew then added lighting fixtures so that the homeowners can enjoy their backyard oasis at any time.
