A&E Highlights – Weakened Friends with Future Teens, Daisybones and Pity Pattern

Weakened Friends with Future Teens, Daisybones and Pity Pattern
UnchARTed  l  February 8

Self-described “indie noise junk band” Weakened Friends is a wiry, whimsical and wild fusion of disarming pop hooks and fuzzed-out riffs, with lyrics that — as their name and aesthetic might suggest — explore the weariness and self-deprecation that comes with being a young adult in America these days. Lead singer Sonia Sturino’s quirky, shaky voice is a perfect match for the subject matter, as is the venue of UnchARTed Gallery and Studios: a Lowell mainstay that’s given many an outsider a place to feel welcome. Accompanying Weakened Friends on the bill are fellow Massachusetts-based indie acts Future Teens, Daisybones and Pity Pattern.
