WELLNESS TIP OF THE WEEK
Traveling for the Holidays? Here’s How You Stop ‘Suitcase Strain’
Lugging your stuff across the country can be a real pain … literally! According to U.S. News & World Report, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reported over 85,000 people sought treatment for luggage-related injuries in 2017. This holiday season, you can avoid becoming part of this statistic by following these easy tips from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons:
- Buy light luggage. Remember, whatever you choose to carry your stuff should be heavy only after you put your stuff in it.
- Don’t drag your luggage up the stairs — picking it up requires less effort, and will do less harm to your back.
- When packing your backpack, make sure your belongings are concentrated in the middle of the space to even the pressure on your shoulders.

That runs counter to the typical wisdom about bitter taste, which humans developed to warn us off things unsuitable for consumption. (via Bustle)
