Backyard OASIS

This outdoor living oasis was designed by homeowners Laura and Jim Koglin. Its harmonious design concept was heavily inspired by their decade spent living in South Carolina. Upon entering between granite pillars, guests immediately note the one-of-a-kind saltwater pool and elevated spa. The surrounding multidimensional travertine slab tile mimics the geometric angles of the pool. To the right is an all-season family room, built to enhance privacy and expand the family’s living space. The elevated deck was constructed without railings to provide an unobstructed view. Landscaping and matte black fencing offer additional privacy, while water features serve as sound buffers. Additional exterior features include a fireplace, marble countertop bar, pizza oven, gas grill, refrigerator, outdoor shower and flat-screen TV.

Left: Patio Place at Ski Haus makes this seating area comfortable and inviting. The best part? The neutral tones of the furniture allow you to easily change the look just by switching pillow colors. The outdoor fireplace, hand built of Ledgestone Boston Blend cut stone, provides warmth on cooler nights and sets a mood of cozy relaxation.

Located under the pool house roof, a white ice marble countertop serves as an outdoor bar and the yard’s hot spot. Additional exterior features include a pizza oven, Weber gas grill, refrigerator, sink, shower, ceiling fans, shade arbor and flat-screen TV. Photo by Adrien Bisson.
