ONE: Tupelo Music Hall’s 9th Annual Bob Dylan Birthday Bash to Support the Brad Delp Foundation is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Make no mistake, though: this isn’t just Dylan. This show will bring together some of the area’s most talented musicians to celebrate all the best music of 1968, 50 years later, in support of music education and music therapy for children and adults with disabilities.
TWO: The North Shore Photography Lecture Series will continue at Firehouse Center for the Arts on Thursday at 7 p.m. as Jim Fitts takes the stage for “Confessions of a Fine Art Addict.” Fitts has been a fine arts photography teacher, lecturer, curator and photographer for over 30 years. He is an avid collector with a focus on 20th century and contemporary American photographs.
THREE: Made in Lowell’s Friday Nights! bring food trucks, live music, local small businesses, artists and family friendly fun to the JFK Plaza. This Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., browse the wares of vendors such as Sweetest Memories and OffBeet Compost while munching on tasty eats from the likes of Uncle E’s BBQ Express, Clyde’s Cupcakes and more.
FOUR: Newburyport’s Inn Street Artisans Revival will hold a Memorial Day Spring Fest on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. outside of its space on the eponymous street. The list of participating artisans includes sand dollar jewelry maker Amy’s Creations, creator of stainless steel sports sculptures Vermont Rocks! and more.
FIVE: On Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m., Symphony NH will perform a show of Broadway and Movie Hits at Court Street Theater that is perfect for little ones. Spend an afternoon with the music of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” and “Frozen,” Bernstein’s “West Side Story,” John Williams’ “Star Wars” and more. Plus, come an hour early at 1 p.m. for a “musical petting zoo,” crafts and other activities in the lobby.
SIX: Taste Buds Kitchen will hold a Tapas Espanolas Adult BYOB Workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Grab a friend, a bottle of Spanish wine and learn to impress at your next dinner party with dishes like albondigas, butternut squash empanadas and spicy patatas bravas. SEVEN: This Sunday, celebrate Amesbury’s Incorporation Day with two events by the Amesbury Carriage Museum. From noon to 4 p.m. at the old Railroad Station in the lower Millyard, the museum will be holding an Ice Cream Social. At the Millyard entrance, the museum will hold walking tours of the area at 1 and 3 p.m.
EIGHT: Skylark Vocal Ensemble will return to Newburyport for the final concert in its 2017-18 season on Sunday at 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The group’s “Lieder & Lovesongs” show pairs melodies from Romantic masters such as Brahms, Schubert, Debussy and Saint-Saëns with offerings from American songwriters such as Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.
