ONE: Tuscan Kitchen & Market Salem has rescheduled Toscana Fest 2017 for this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This outdoor festival features traditional Italian culture (gelato, panini, and other artisan Italian foods from Tuscan Kitchen and Tuscan Market, alongside live music and bocce on the property’s picturesque tournament-worthy courts) and autumn family favorites like pumpkin carving, hay rides, face-painting, carnival games, and more.
TWO: While raising funds and awareness for the Acton Food Pantry, the West Acton Village Oktoberfest is a beloved town tradition. On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. over 40 businesses, non-profits, artists, and more set up in Gardner Field, along with sidewalk sales and promotions happening throughout the village.
THREE: Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the Yellow Brick Road… to Winnekenni Castle in Haverhill for the Emerald City Faire on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shop with 30 merchants, partake in food and beverage, and enjoy watching multiple entertainers. Costumes are encouraged, from steampunk fashion to Renaissance garb and everything in between. Greg Maguire, author of bestseller “Wicked” — which went on to serve as the basis for the smash-hit Broadway show — will be the special guest.
FOUR: From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Downtown Nashua, N.H. will be filled with over 100 local and area artists, musical entertainment and activities for adults and children as part of the 13th Annual ArtWalk Weekend. FIVE: Held on the grounds of beautiful Redhook Ale Brewery in Portsmouth, N.H. on Saturday from noon to 9 p.m., the 9th Annual New Hampshire Brewfest is a special fundraiser for the Prescott Park Arts Festival in partnership with Master Brewers Association of America and WHEB’s The Morning Buzz. Admission includes entry to the event, 5oz souvenir sampler cup, beer samples, and live music and entertainment.
SIX: Mill No. 5’s Red Antler Apothecary will hold From Scratch to Suds: A Basic Soapmaking Workshop on Saturday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. As the title indicates, you’ll learn how to make your own soap… and even get to take a pound of it home. Registration is required.
SEVEN: Clark Farm Market in Carlisle is holding a Family Oktoberfest on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. Somerville’s Bronwyn Restaurant will be cooking up bratwurst made from the farm’s own pork, along with turkey legs, pretzels and other awesome foods in their Wurst Wagon. Hot and cold cider, pie, ice cream, beer, and hard cider will also be available to purchase. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome!
EIGHT: Haverhill’s Tap Brewing Company will hold HOGtober Fest, a pig roast and October beer release dinner, on Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets include all-you-can-eat whole-roasted hog and all the “fixins” served buffet style, two beers, a Ryan & Wood liquor sample, Downeast Cider tasting and a souvenir glass to take home.
