Eight Great Things To Do This Weekend – Christmas Edition

ONE: Need some last-minute gifts? Lexington Arts & Crafts Society has two more days left for shoppers to peruse its Holiday Marketplace. The marketplace will be open Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

TWO: Enjoy Holiday Hospitality Hour with Scott Plath as the owner of Cobblestones of Lowell mingles with restaurant visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday.

THREE: The Newburyport Life is Good store declares It’s a Holiday Party on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., offering up an in-store snowball fight, a hot chocolate and cupcake bar, and holiday games and prizes before Christmas weekend.

FOUR: Navigation Brewing Co. invites Merrimack Valley beer lovers to join them for an Ugly Sweater Party on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. In addition to a number of delicious local brews on tap, the party will feature food provided by HomeKitchen.

FIVE: Firehouse Center for the Arts’ last performance of A Nutcracker Panto! is this Friday at 7 p.m. A delightful combination of music, dancing and comedy, this old-fashioned show will put you in the Christmas mood just in time for a weekend with family and friends.

SIX: Merrimack Repertory Theatre has two final showings of Going to See the Kid left, one on Friday at 8 p.m. and another on Saturday at noon. The play, about two reporters on the same assigment to interview baseball legend Ted Williams, is chock-full of holiday spirit.

SEVEN: Tuscan Kitchen brings together two beloved Italian Christmas traditions this week: first, enjoy a four-course meal alongside a performance by the Strictly Sinatra Orchestra at this Friday’s A Tuscan Christmas Carol at 7 p.m; then, on Saturday, get a taste of Southern Italy with the Feast of Seven Fishes from 3 to 8 p.m.

EIGHT: Spend the night before Christmas picking out that special bottle courtesy of Lucia’s Bodega, whose Christmas Eve Wine Tasting will give you great ideas for pairings with your holiday dinner on Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m.
