Eight Great Things To Do This Weekend – Thanksgiving Weekend Edition

ONE: Ring in the holidays in Lowell with this year’s City of Lights Parade and Holiday Celebration! Spend Saturday afternoon strolling the city streets, enjoying live performances, holiday shopping, photos with Santa and the annual Hot Chocolate Competition.

TWO: Saturday marks the largest community event in Southern New Hampshire: Nashua’s Winter Holiday Stroll! The evening begins at 5 p.m. with a candlelit procession up Main Street, with plenty of live entertainment, holiday shopping and downtown dining to enjoy!

THREE: The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce will encourage shopping local after Black Friday with Small Business Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to grabbing all sorts of deals and steals at locally-owned shops, attendees can enjoy giveaways and contests in Market Square.

small_business_saturday16FOUR: Amesbury isn’t the only city participating, though! Manchester, N.H. will be holding their very own Small Business Saturday as well. Get 10% off your purchase at 900 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, or a free sample for each visitor at Dancing Lion Chocolate!

FIVE: In the mood for a little festive music to go with all these holiday shopping sessions and celebrations? Head over to the SNHU Arena on Saturday at 3:30 or 8 p.m. to watch the Trans-Siberian Orchestra perform their annual show, filled with rockin’ renditions of holiday classics!

SEVEN: The Sea Festival of Trees will host a special Santa + the Grinch Holiday Brunch on Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to noon. Santa will arrive by fire truck, after which children and their families can enjoy brunch with Mr. Claus and the green one himself, the Grinch!

EIGHT: Like Lowell wants to give you a taste of the Mill City, so stop by any day this weekend to sample the wares of Dine Out Lowell participants. Specials include a free Baked Alaska with each entree at Bishop’s Legacy and a $10 lunch special at Mill City BBQ.
