Eight Great Things To Do This Weekend – 10/13/16

ONE: Support the programs and artists of Essex Art Center by attending their Oktoberfest event on Friday at 7 p.m. Sample craft beers from near and far, including some local creations from the likes of 603 Brewery, Horizon Beverages and more!

TWO: Haverhill Public Library will be holding their 2nd Annual Fall Fundraiser at the Barking Dog Ale House on Friday at 7 p.m. The theme is “Haverhill Through the Decades,” and it’s suggested that attendees dress up in clothing from their favorite decade.

It’s the only place you can see Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and those lovable Whos all at the same time! Showings on Friday and Saturday will be at 7 p.m., while the Sunday performance will be at 2 p.m.

FOUR: Enjoy a night at the opera by attending the one-night-only Palace Theatre performance of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca on Friday at 7 p.m. This classic melodrama recounts the invasion of Italy by Napoleon, and remains extremely popular over 116 years after its original premiere.

FIVE: Newburyport’s Great Pumpkin Lighting & Stroll will take place on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Design and carve your own jack-o-lantern to light at this family-friendly event, then stroll downtown to see the creations of others.
