Gross has added even more material to his repertoire since his appearance at the Firehouse last year, so whether you’re seeing him for the first time or not, there’ll be something new to enjoy.
TWO: The dulcet tones of The Manhattan Transfer and Take 6 will serenade the audience at Blue Ocean Music Hall on Friday at 8 p.m. The two vocal groups have a whopping ten Grammy Awards each!
THREE: Merrimack Repertory Theatre’s chilling New England tale Abigail/1702 opened this past Wednesday and there are more performances all weekend. Catch Marvel Comics and “Glee” writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s continuation of “The Crucible” on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., or on Sunday at 2 p.m.
FOUR: On Saturday, Verrill Farm will hold the 10th Harvest Day & Benefit for Emerson Hospital’s Pediatric Care. Attendees can enjoy live music, activities and games for kids, a raffle and silent auction, as well as delicious food and beverages — all for a great cause! The Harvest Day will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the event of rain, it will be rescheduled to Oct. 15.
FIVE: Take the kids on an interactive adventure when Odd Squad: Live! comes to the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on Saturday at 3 p.m. Based on the popular PBS show, children will get a big kick out of helping the titular group solve mysteries and stop dastardly villains.
SIX: See four shows in a row as Scott Matthew Pittman, Ian Fitzgerald and Haunt the House go on the Lowell, Massachusetts Tour In One Day. From 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, the trio will perform at Brew’d Awakening. From 5 to 7 p.m., they’ll be at Vinyl Destination. They’ll take over the gallery at UnchARTed from 9 to 11 p.m. Finally, catch their midnight show at the mysterious Boiler Room speakeasy.
SEVEN: Thanks to popular demand, Four Oaks Country Club will be offering another Golf Tournament and Italian Game Day Buffet on Sunday starting at 8 a.m. Get in a round of golf, watch the Pats take on the Browns and enjoy selections like meatballs and chicken parm.
EIGHT: Continuing the season’s delightful tradition of getting runners out into the fall air, the 30th Bobby Bell 5 Mile Road Race will kick off at The Lasting Room on Sunday at 11 a.m. All finishers will be awarded a pair of Adidas Sports in-ear headphones.
