Eva Valentine is a mother, a daughter, an educator and a certified senior advisor with more than 35 years of experience in the fields of wealth management, retirement and estate planning, and insurance. Her days are filled with complex figures and a dizzying array of investment jargon. However, despite watching over multiple national and global markets, Valentine never loses sight of a singular, outstanding truth: While she may work with numbers, she works for people. Her clients’ ages span across decades, with some well into their 80s; others are still wearing onesies.

Providing one-size-fits-all advice isn’t an option. Valentine is keenly aware of how a person’s financial strength is directly impacted by real life circumstances. Characteristics such as age, sex, health and race have a much larger impact on a person’s assets than most people realize.

Statistically, the average non-minority, professional woman will make 72 cents for every dollar her male counterpart earns. For African and Latino women, the disparity is even greater, with numbers closer to 56 cents and 52 cents respectively. Valentine takes this into account when she’s helping women prepare for their futures. She also knows that gender and health can affect how savings are spent during retirement. Males and females are both susceptible to strokes; however, women typically gain more functionality after an episode. As a result, they often live longer, but with less money.

Valentine goes beyond spreadsheets and bank statements. She factors in what makes her clients unique individuals, and tailor-fits investment portfolios and financial strategies to meet their monetary needs and goals. It’s a hybridized role: She’s part financial planner, part social anthropologist and in tough times, a sympathetic ear.

Another major component of Valentine’s work is education. Navigating the complex world of stocks, bonds and trades is daunting for a lay person. Through seminars, weekly market assessment newsletters, and simply taking the time to answer questions, Valentine helps ensure her clients understand what she is recommending and why. Knowing her clientele is financially literate is as important to Valentine as securing their financial well-being.

First-time and experienced stockholders searching for a more holistic approach to investment are encouraged to get to know Eva Valentine better by signing up for her free newsletter. Individuals who want to get started preparing for their futures today can call Aegis Financial Strategies, Inc., to schedule a consultation. She’ll be happy you did, and chances are, you will be too.
