Lowell, Mass. The Catmobile, operated by the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society (MRFRS) will offer low cost spay neuter clinics for cats at the Lowell Humane Society. The package consists of spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, exam, nail trim, treatment for fleas and ear mites. Spay package costs $100 and neuter package costs $75. Reservations are required. January 3 -February 1
Lowell, Mass.–Project Genesis and Middlesex Community College are offering a series of free home buying seminars in 2012. Each series consists of four evening seminars. Seminars are held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Classes are held at Middlesex Community College. January sessions are: January 3, 4, 10, 11 and January 24, 25, 31, February 1. Andover, Mass.–The Fifth Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Brunch will be held at the Andover Baptist Church, 7 Central St., from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Dr. John H. Haverhill, Mass.–Checkered Flag Indoor Karting will host the 2nd Annual Race Against Cancer. This event involves professional and amateur racers from all over New England competing in a go kart race to raise money for Racing Against Cancer, a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer research, patient services, youth tobacco educational programs and awareness. January 22
Lowell, Mass.–The Merrimack Valley Food Bank will hold its Second Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser at St. Anne’s Church on Merrimack Street from 12 – 4 p.m. Sample delicious soups and chowders and take home a commemorative bowl for only $20.
