Merrimack Valley Modern at the Meadow Creek Golf Club: Golf course architect Jeffrey Brem knew he wanted to make a design statement with the clubhouse at his new Meadow Creek Golf Club. The public course in Dracut offers golfers a level of quality normally associated with higher-end private clubs. Brem wanted his clubhouse to reflect Meadow Creek’s philosophy of providing clients with a first-rate design that is both accessible and affordable. Boston-based CBT Architects helped Brem realize his vision with a contemporary design engineered specifically for a New England landscape.
Sitting on a hill, Meadow Creek’s clubhouse takes advantage of beautiful, unobstructed views. The greens of the golf course and the skyline of Lowell are visible through the many walls of windows. The clubhouse’s spare modern interior walls are cool with smoky grays and luminescent shades of blue. The ballroom’s white drum chandeliers add an air of modern elegance. Even the powder rooms adhere to a modern aesthetic with the use of luminescent glass tiles.
The gallery off the ballroom is an architectural gem with retractable garage-style glass doors. The use of industrial doors is both creative and practical, allowing guests to enjoy cocktails, cool breezes and a perfectly framed sunset view. The building’s external appearance stays true to its New England heritage with traditional gray clapboard siding and cedar porticos.

Thanks to chef David Bressler, the food at Meadow Creek is worthy of the impressive clubhouse design. Bressler comes to Meadow Creek from the Stonehedge Inn in Tyngsboro Mass, but his career in the culinary arts started long before his first professional job. When Bressler was 7, his father, also a chef, presented the budding culinarian with his first set of knives. Bressler can’t remember a time when he wasn’t working on something in the kitchen, and he brings this lifelong passion for food to Meadow Creek. Everything from basic stocks to elaborate desserts is made fresh and from scratch. Buying local with an environmentally friendly attitude was Bressler’s mantra long before it became popular — that’s why the haddock served in his restaurant is line-caught. Guests at Meadow Creek will be treated to a meal above and beyond typical banquet fare.
Bride-to-be Kristine Martin of Lowell wanted a modern, urban wedding venue and visited several Boston hotels, but found their total packages underwhelming. On her father’s recommendation, she and her fiance visited Meadow Creek on their way home from Boston and knew instantly that they’d found their place. “After our first visit, we just knew Meadow Creek was the right location for our wedding,” Kristine says. “It had the exact atmosphere we were looking for, complimented by a talented event team to help us create the wedding of our dreams. Meadow Creek is the perfect location for today’s modern bride.”
